A little black dress. We all know the tale of how fabulous an LBD can be. How it can magically transform a woman to be sleek, elegant and sophisticated. Audrey wore it best and the rest of all woman have tried to follow.
But in actual fact, I’m not one of those girls who religiously loves the perfect LBD. I don’t have in all honesty too many occasions for a classic LBD. When I go out and about, I like to wear something more statement making or an outfit with more sass.
However, on this night I finally had the perfect occasion for a lovely little LBD. The Young Liberals Annual Cocktail Ball! What a grand political ball it was. Never have I ever seen such a fine room of well dressed, Liberal inclined gentlemen. With the number of boys highly succeeding the number of girls, I was definitely in with a chance of being swept off my feet.
The dress, by Finders Keepers, was certainly a hit. At an event where I knew no one at all (except for my YL President) and one where I did feel slightly out of place, this LBD really allowed me to walk in with confidence and grace. It gave off the idea I did know what I was talking about in terms of party policies but that I was also simply there for a good party and social reasons! Of course I am political minded and really am a passionate Liberal supporter, but I mainly did join the Young Libs to find me some young, economically minded, Kooyong electorate boys ;P
I love the flute skirt of the dress and the strong architectural panels running down it. And my little Louis V. number 3 worked a charm with the look. It’s glittering gold showed the Young Libs that I’m one political girl who knows her high end fashion stuff!
High fashion meets high politics…. a combination to keep working on.
